About Zepnat Cycles
Zepnat Cycles was established in 2006 as a mail-order business. In 2010, we opened our first retail shop on Smedley Street in Matlock, and in the summer of 2025 we relocated to our new premises at 9 Dale Road North, Darley Dale.
Today, Zepnat Cycles is recognised as one of the UK’s leading cyclocross specialists, offering decades of experience and expertise. We cater for cyclists of all ages and abilities, providing servicing and repairs for almost every type of bicycle—from children’s bikes and everyday commuters to high-end road bikes equipped with Shimano Di2 and SRAM eTap electronic groupsets.
Our head mechanic, Gav Slater, brings exceptional knowledge and experience across all areas of cycling. During his career, Gav has worked extensively with Team GB and British Triathlon, supporting athletes at Paralympic Games, World Championships and European Championships around the globe.
Bikes prepared by Gav have been ridden by some of Britain’s most successful athletes, including the Brownlee brothers, Beth Potter, Alex Yee and Lauren Steadman. From £10,000 race bikes and time-trial machines to gravel bikes, cyclocross bikes, mountain bikes, handcycles and trikes, Gav has worked on virtually every type of bicycle imaginable. As an active cyclist himself, he understands first-hand how even the smallest adjustments can improve performance, comfort and reliability.
